All products offered for sale by First Saddlery are priced in Pounds Sterling and include UK VAT at the prevailing rate, where applicable.

Placing an order

There are a number of options available to you for placing an order.


Just browse this website and add items to your Cart. Click Checkout to place your order and pay online via our secure payment system with Sage Pay and PayPal


You can order by post by completing the order form available to download at www.firstsaddlery.co.uk. Postal charges will apply. You can use MasterCard, Visa, Solo or Maestro, or send a cheque or postal order to us at First Saddlery, Rowallan Activity Centre, Meikle Mosside, Fenwick, Ayrshire, KA3 6AY. Please do not send cash in the post. If you do not have an order form, please contact us on 07547 179052 and we will send you one.


You can order by phone by calling 07547 179052. We are open Tuesday to Friday from 11am to 6pm, Saturday from 10am to 5.30pm and Sunday from 10am to 4.30pm. Network call charges will apply – contact your telephone network provider for details.


There are a number of ways you can make payment for your goods.


This is the fastest way to pay for your goods and for immediate dispatch (subject to stock being available). We accept all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and Maestro but excluding Amex. Your card is not debited until our goods are dispatched. We ask for your card details and the address details of where the card is registered at the time of ordering. These details include the card number, the name the card is registered to and the security number (found on the reverse of the card).


If you pay by cheque please allow 10 working days for you payment to clear. Cheques should be made payable to “First Saddlery & Countrywear” and your cheque card number needs to be written on the back of the cheque.


Vouchers can only be redeemed via post, in store, or at our show trade stands. The voucher must be used in full and no cash refund will be issued. We accept online and in store payments for Gift Vouchers by credit or debit card using the payment methods described above.

Payment Security

We have made every effort to make shopping with First Saddlery secure.


All orders placed online with us are taken and transmitted directly to Sage Pay, our payment gateway, using a secure connection, verified by VeriSign. We do not store your card details and they cannot be seen by any employees within First Saddlery or Sage Pay.


Sage Pay is our Payment Service Provider and authorise payment with your Bank or Building Society. Sage Pay handles online credit and debit card transactions for thousands of online retailers. All communication between Sage Pay and First Saddlery is done using 128-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certification, using certificates issued and verified by VeriSign.


As soon as you enter our Cart area you are automatically redirected to our secure site. This security is provided and verified by VeriSign. For more than 10 years, VeriSign has been securing data and enabling online transactions and the VeriSign Secured Seal is the most recognised security mark on the Internet. First Saddlery has chosen to use VeriSign’s most comprehensive certificate, which enables you to experience the strongest possible encryption supported by your browser. One of the most recommended ways to be sure your online transaction is safe is to look for the locked padlock icon in your web browser’s URL bar. When you see the locked padlock it is telling you two things: • That the site you are using has a verified SSL certificate which is valid and usable. • That your browser has accepted the SSL certificate and has triggered encryption of data between your computer and our site. In addition, on many modern browsers, the address bar at the top of the browser will turn green. This means that not only is the connection secured, but VeriSign Extended Validation has authenticated the identity of First Saddlery. If you are in doubt about the authenticity of the site you are viewing, or wish to double check, clicking on the VeriSign logo (displayed on most pages on our website) will allow you to check the validation directly with VeriSign.


If you choose to pay via PayPal you will be redirected to PayPal via a secure connection. Once you have completed your transaction with PayPal you be redirected back to our site, where we will complete your order as normal. We are a PayPal Verified Seller and have been since we opened in October 2011.


In addition to the security measures already described, we have also chosen to use McAfee Secure to ensure our site continues to meet payment card industry guidelines. McAfee Secure tests our site daily using a set of security scans to enable us to remain confident that we are doing everything possible to ensure your online safety whilst on our site.


If you are using a shared computer always remember to log out once you have finished on any website. Closing your web browser may not be enough and it is always best to use the log out button on a website. Never write down your password and always keep it a secret. You should also change your password at regular intervals, or immediately if you suspect it has been compromised. When creating a password it is best to choose a combination of both numbers and letters. Avoid using parts of your email, postal address, date of birth or your name.

Order Tracking

An email will be sent out when the order has been despatched. It will include details of the courier service used and how to track your item.

Delivery Information


We aim to dispatch goods from our warehouse within 48 hours. Occasionally at busy times this may take a little longer. You will be notified by email if this is likely. In exceptional circumstances, please allow 28 days for delivery.

Smaller items are delivered by Royal Mail. Delivery is normally next day but is Royal Mail dependant and can take 3-5 working days.

Heavier parcels over 15kg may need to be posted in two parcels therefore incurring a second charge. Please contact us if you have any questions about heavy deliveries on 07547 179052.


If you return an item to us within 14 days in perfect condition, complete with the original packaging, we will be happy to exchange or refund you the original price (excluding postage and packaging). This does not affect your statutory rights.

Please note special order items and underwear cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty. You must make your own arrangements to return goods to us and you will be responsible for the cost of return unless goods are faulty. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage as you are responsible for the returned goods until they arrive in our warehouse. We will not accept soiled items, so when trying rugs on horses etc use a clean sheet under the rug to ensure it does not get grubby and covered in hairs. If you are returning a heavy item such as a saddle, you can give us a call and we may be able to arrange a courier to collect the parcel from you (depending on location). There will be a small charge for this service (£10.00) which is usually less than the Post Office charges. Fair Wear & Tear Guarantee

Some of our products are guaranteed for 12 months from the date of receipt, providing they are used in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. If we feel it is necessary, goods will be returned to the manufacturer for their comments. Please allow 28 days for this inspection. Under no circumstances should items continue to be used when damaged, as you will have been deemed to have accepted the goods in their damaged condition. This is in addition to your statutory rights.

Hygiene Regulations

Due to the Health and Safety regulations and the hygienic problems involved with the inspection of Footwear and Horse Clothing, we are unable to handle and inspect any item unless it is clean and dry (Health and Safety at Work Act 1974). For Hygiene reasons underwear is non-returnable.


We know you will expect us to keep your details private, so we make every effort to do so.


When you register with First Saddlery and/or place an order, we need to know your name, delivery address, credit or debit card details, and email address and telephone number. This information allows us to process your order and notify you of the status of your order. If you subscribe to our mailing lists, we may ask you to specify the areas in which you are interested so that we can tailor the information which we send to you to cover the topics and merchandise which we believe you might be interested in. We may, from time to time, send with your ordered products, inserts advertising the goods or services of unrelated third party companies, but we do not pass on your personal data to these third party companies. We may occasionally contact you with the latest products or offers by post or email. We will only ever email you from a FirstSaddlery.co.uk email address. We will also include an unsubscribe link in every email we send, so you can always opt out of receiving emails from us. If you follow the unsubscribe link on the email you will be automatically removed from our system and will not receive any more promotional emails from us. If at any time you wish to stop receive information by post, contact us and you will be removed from the mailing list. Because the Internet infrastructure is global, and it is not possible to predict the routes that information sent over the Internet will take, the information you provide may be transferred temporarily via a route which takes it outside the European Economic Area as it passes between you and us. By submitting your information you consent to this transfer.

Our site uses cookies to keep track of your visits to our web site. A cookie is a small file that can be stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. We may use these to do a number of things for example to deliver contents specific to your interest and to save your email address so that you don't have to re-enter it every time you visit our site. Our Products and Us


We try to hold stocks of all styles for active products, however occasionally an item will be out of stock. If this is the case we will inform you. All delivery dates are estimates and are subject to availability.


While we make every effort to ensure that photographs and descriptions of our products are accurate, some details, such as colour, may not be a true representation on the website. To make things easier for customers, where there is a colour choice available it can be selected at point of purchase. If you have asked us to order an item specially that is sourced from outside our usual stock, the item is non-returnable.


Please note that when participating in our offers or promotions, they cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer. Multi-buy promotions including buy one get one free and 3 for 2 offers will only apply to the items stated and must be purchased within one transaction. The cheapest item will be free. If free postage is offered, it applies to a Standard Delivery only and excludes quoted and overseas deliveries.
